Tristan Blue

Tristan Matthew Blue
--- - 2014

Tristan was two years old when he passed away. He was reported missing on the afternoon of December 24, 2014 by his mother, Briana Dangerfield. Family members suggested that Tristan may have wandered off. Briana told police that she had woken up around 12:30 p.m. and found a package by her open door. She said that she didn't see Tristan when she woke up, but his father, Steven Blue, was there and they searched for Tristan before calling 911. She reported that when she arrived home earlier in the day, it looked like Tristan was asleep with his father, Steven, in his bedroom.

The next day, police had enough information to assume that Tristan was not just missing, but deceased and that his death was a homicide. Through interviews with Steven, police learned that Tristan had been unresponsive that day, and Steven put his body in his vehicle before dumping it in a lake. The next day, December 26, Tristan's body was removed from the lake. Steven admitted that he had smothered Tristan with a pillow when he was unable to make Tristan stop crying.

Steven was charged with first degree murder, but he pleaded guilty to second degree murder, illegal disposal of a body, obstruction of justice, and conspiring with Briana. He was sentenced to a total of at least thirty-three years in prison. Briana was charged with helping to conceal the crime. I am unable to find sentencing information pertaining to Briana.

Dakota Burke-Everett

Dakota Aryn Burke-Everett
April 19, 2013 - January 8, 2015
Dakota was born on April 19, 2013 to Summer Everett and Mitchell Burke. Dakota's father, Mitchell, was so thankful to have become a father. Unfortunately, he had made some bad choices previously in his life, so he was going to have to serve time. He was incredibly upset that he would be separated from Dakota and Summer. Summer and Mitchell split up because Mitchell would soon be behind bars. They still focused all their love on their daughter, Dakota.

Eventually, Summer met a man named Christopher Knapp. She began dating Christopher, and Christopher was a prominent part of Dakota's life. On December 31, 2014, Dakota was sent to the emergency room, unresponsive. She was put on life support and, since abuse was suspected, officers were called. Dakota had multiple injuries including a skull fracture, hemorrhaging in both of her eyes, swelling, a broken clavicle, arm fractures, and significant burns to her hands and one of her ears. Her injuries were in different stages of healing, proving that she had not been injured on just one occasion.

Dakota stayed on life support for eight days. Unfortunately, the damage to Dakota's body was too severe and she passed away. Her death was ruled as a homicide by head trauma. Christopher and Summer were arrested in relation to Dakota's murder. As of now, I am unaware of the sentencing of Summer ot Christopher.

David Behr

David Joseph Theodore Behr
September 14, 2004 - October 3, 2007
David was born on September 14, 2004, six weeks earlier than he was supposed to be born. He had breathing issues and had to spend time in neo-natal care. He was a happy little boy who adored his older siblings. He had three older sisters, Miracle, Rebekka, and Casandra, and an older brother, Jacob.

On the day David passed away, he had a normal day. He ate breakfast with his siblings, played on his big wheel, and watched cartoons. By 5:30 in the evening, his mother was making dinner while his older sisters did their homework. David was riding his bicycle with his brother. When dinner was done, David came in and ate a bit of it before going back outside to play with his bicycle.

Around 6:35, David's father heard David's brother say that he was going inside the house and he did not want to ride his bicycle anymore. David's mother was watching from the window inside the house. Jacob came inside and David's mother took him over to the television and helped him find something he wanted to watch. When she went back to the window, she did not see David. She went to the sliding glass door and yelled to her husband, "Where is David?"

David's father rushed to the pool, suspecting that David may have fallen in. He was right. Inside the pool were David and his bicycle. David's mother dove into the pool and got David out. David's sisters witnessed this and begged their father to save David as he performed CPR on him. They were scared and crying. David's oldest sister, Miracle, only eleven years old, called 911 and handed the phone to her mother who was able to tell the operator what had happened.

An off duty sheriff came and took David to the ambulance. Paramedics began working on David. David's three siblings went to stay with a neighbor while his parents went to the hospital to be with David. Unfortunately, nothing could be done for David and he passed away.

Noah Burke

Noah Matthew Burke
January 30, 2004 - March 2, 2008
Noah was born on January 30, 2004. Noah was diagnosed with Autism when he was two and a half years old. He had a younger sister named Chloe. He was a very bright and happy boy. He liked animals, especially elephants and giraffes. He liked building animals with his Legos. He liked going on tractor rides with his dad and feeding the cows. Noah was also a big fan of playing in tall grass.

On the day Noah died, he, his parents, and his sister were all home enjoying a free day they had. His father was getting a vehicle ready for a new job he was starting. Noah was playing outside. He was wearing a "Go Diego Go" bicycle helmet that his father got for him. Noah did not know how to ride a bicycle, but he loved the helmet because he loved Diego. Noah's mother was watching him while Chloe slept inside. His mother stepped inside for a moment, leaving the door open to keep an eye on Noah, so she could check on Chloe. When she came back, Noah was playing on the porch.

The next time Noah's mother went to check on him, she could not find him. Neither could his father. They began yelling his name, though they knew he would not respond, as he was mostly non-verbal. They checked every place they believed Noah could be before calling 911. Many people began searching for Noah

At around 6:00 p.m. a searcher found a small cowboy boot in a small island located in a creek near Noah's home. The search for Noah still continued, but he was not found and searchers had to eventually stop the search for the night. The next morning, the search was back on for Noah. Around 9:00 that morning, Noah was found three miles downstream. The helicopter pilot that was searching for Noah saw something blue just below the water. It was Noah's helmet.

Noah had wandered off and drowned in the creek. Noah, only four years old, had no regard for his own safety. His death was clearly an accident. His family got to spend time with him at the mortuary. They read him a book and put his Finding Nemo blanket around him. Then they gave him his favorite baby elephant toy before saying their goodbyes.

Faith and Liberty Battaglia

Mary Faith "Faith" Battaglia
January 9, 1992 - May 1, 2001

Liberty Mae Battaglia
January 17, 1995 - May 2, 2001

Mary, called by her middle name, Faith, by those who knew her was born on January 9, 1992. Her little sister, Liberty, was born on January 17, 1995. Their parents were Mary Pearle and John Battaglia. John was a violent man and Mary had separated from him. She did not think that he would do anything to harm their daughters, however.

John had told Mary when they were still together that he had gotten into a violent argument with his previous wife. He did not tell her that the argument had left his ex-wife with a broken nose and that he had beaten her in front of their elementary school aged daughter. Mary began experiencing verbal abuse and moments were John showed his violent temper. Even so, he never even raised his voice when talking to his daughters. He was very kind, patient, and gentle with them. Mary didn't want to break their family apart for her children's sake, and noted that there were good moments with John too, so she endured the abuse. She suggested John get counseling, which he refused.

After being in the abusive relationship for seven years, with many of the incidents witnessed by her children, Mary decided it was time to file for divorce. John was allowed to see the children, but not enter the home. In 1999, on Christmas, Mary allowed John into the home which resulted in him brutally beating her. 911 was called, but Mary chose not to go to the hospital and instead to try and prepare Christmas dinner to try and make Christmas as normal as possible. John pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault and was given two years probation. He was not to have contact with Mary and was denied visitation with his children for thirty days.

While Mary was initially concerned about John having visitation with Liberty and Faith, she didn't believe John's anger was directed toward the children. In 2000, when the divorce was finalized, John violated parole by giving Mary a threatening phone call and testing positive for marijuana. Mary became worried about the threats and believed that John might kill her, however she wanted her children to be able to see their father and believed that he was not violent with them at all, so they continued to have visitation with him. Even so, fearing for her life, Mary worked to have John arrested.

Mary gave the children to John at a public shopping centre. On one visitation, one just like the others, seemingly, the girls got into their father's truck at the centre and then he drove them to his apartment, as usual. Mary was told that the children wanted to speak to her, so she called to speak to them. One of the girls asked her, "Mommy, why do you want Daddy to go to jail?" and before she could answer, Mary heard Faith yelling, "No, Daddy! No! Please don't do it!" This was followed by gunshots.

Mary rushed to John's apartment where officers informed her that both Faith and Liberty had been shot and killed. John was not initially found, but then it was discovered he had went to a bar. He placed a phone call to his children, saying, "Goodnight, my little babies. I hope you're resting in a different place. I love you and I wish that you had nothing to do with your mother. She was evil and vicious and stupid. I love you dearly." He then went to a tattoo parlor and had two tattoos, one for Faith and one for Liberty, tattooed on his arm. Police managed to capture him outside of the parlor.

John was charged with the deaths of Faith and Liberty. He was found guilty and was sentenced to death.

Steve Branch

Steve Edward Branch
November 26, 1984 - May 5, 1993
Steve was born on November 26, 1984 to Steven and Pamela Branch. His parents divorced shortly after Steve's birth and Pamela married Terry Hobbs. Steve was an honor's student. He had a four year old sister named Amanda.

Steve was eight years old when he was reported missing along with two other eight year old boys, Christopher Byers and Michael Moore. The boys were all second graders at the same school and had reached the rank "Wolf" in Cub Scouts. They were all best friends. Christopher was the first to be reported missing around 7:00 by John Byers. Three neighbors told police that they had seen the boys playing together around 6:30 that evening. He also reported seeing Terry Hobbs, Steve's step-father, calling the boys to come home.

Police and people around the neighborhood began searching for the boys that night. Around 8:00 a.m. the next day, police began searching again. Around 1:45 p.m. a parole officer spotted a boy's black shoe floating in a creek that led to a drainage canal. The ditch was searched more thoroughly and the bodies of all three boys were found. They had all been stripped naked and they were tied up with their shoelaces. Their clothing was found nearby in the creek, with the exception of two of the boys' underwear which was never found.

Steve and Michael's causes of death were "multiple injuries and drowning." Christopher had multiple lacerations to various parts of his body. His scrotum and his penis had been mutilated. Christopher's cause of death was listed as "multiple injuries." Investigators believed that the boys had been raped, although expert testimony disputed this. Even so, trace amounts of semen were found on some of the boys' clothing.

Jessie Misskelley Jr., 17, Jason Baldwin, 16, and Damien Echols, 18, were arrested for abducting and killing the three boys. Jason and Damien were previously arrested for vandalism and shoplifting. Jessie was known to fistfight with other children at school, although he and Damien had dropped out of high school before the murders. Jason, however, was a good student. Damien's family were visited many times by social workers and he had a troubled life. He had been diagnosed with a serious mental illness that caused him to experience delusions and hallucinations, among other symptoms.

Jessie was convicted of one count of first degree murder and two counts of second degree murder. He was sentenced to life plus forty years in prison. Three weeks after Jessie's trial, Jason and Damien went to trial together. They were both found guilty of three counts of murder. Damien was given the death penalty while Jason as sentenced to life in prison.

Bessie Barker

Bessie Barker
March 13, 1888 - December 27, 1890

Bessie was born on March 13, 1888 to Charles and Alice Barker. When Bessie died, she, her mother, and her siblings were spending the Christmas holiday with relatives a few miles from their home. In the morning, Bessie's mother stepped out of the house for a moment. Bessie missed her mother and was looking for her. Another child jokingly told Bessie that her mother had gone home. Bessie told the other child that she was also going home. This is the last time Bessie was seen alive.

Bessie had taken her Christmas doll and left the house by herself to find her mother, unknown to others in the home. It was winter, and it was cold. Bessie, only two years old, did not dress herself warmly for the winter. About half an hour after Bessie was last seen, it was noticed that she was missing. The house was searched, but Bessie was not there. Neighbors were told and the neighborhood began searching for Bessie.

The next morning, people were still searching for Bessie. Some of her footprints were found near a railroad, but eventually, they were lost and unable to be followed. The search continued, however, and the same night, Bessie's body was found on the doorstep of a home about eleven miles from the home she left from. She had frozen to death in the cold weather. Her clothes were wet up to her knees, as she had waded through a creek. She had also lost her doll. It is believed she fell asleep before she passed away.

Mercedes Blair

Mercedes Aniyece Blair
February 23, 2010 - October 17, 2014

Mercedes was four years old when she was taken to the hospital for severe injuries. She had multiple bruises on her forehead, ears, shoulders, arms, legs, chest, back, and abdomen. She also had damage to her liver and kidneys. These injuries were determined to be caused by blunt force trauma. She also had a skull fracture causing brain bleeding and swelling. Her hand also was fractured and had a burn on it, suspected to be caused by someone pouring a hot liquid on her hand. Mercedes passed away due to her injuries.

A man named Ivan Sanders, Mercedes's mother's boyfriend, was charged with killing Mercedes. He was charged with first degree murder and aggravated child abuse. Ivan had been the one to bring Mercedes to the hospital after he said he found her unconscious after leaving her outside to play for a brief moment while he got her a glass of water. He was watching her while her mother was at work. He also said that while Mercedes had been eating breakfast that morning, she had tripped and fallen, and that he noticed she had scratched herself on her stomach.

When law enforcement interviewed Ivan, he also said that he had "playfully thrown" Mercedes onto a bed, causing her to bounce off the bed and hit the wall. He also said he pressed down on her stomach in an attempt to make her have a bowel movement. He said Mercedes's hand had been burnt when she accidentally pulled a pan of boiling water onto herself.

Mercedes's mother had dated Ivan for roughly six months before moving in with him. She and Mercedes had only lived with him for about two weeks. She said she started noticing bruises on Mercedes after moving in with Ivan, and that once, while she was at work, Ivan had spanked Mercedes so hard she had bruises on her bottom. Officers as well as Mercedes's mother did not believe Ivan was telling the truth about Mercedes's injuries.

Ivan was arrested for marijuana possession and resisting arrest. That is all of the information I can find about Ivan's charges/sentencing at the time this is posted.

Andres Bravo

Andres Bravo
March 14, 2004 - September 13, 2004

Andres was born on March 14, 2004 to Sascha Garcia and Adolfo Bravo. When he was only five months old, he was admitted to a children's hospital after his mother's boyfriend, Antwan Sawyer, said that he had fallen off the bed while he was taking care of him while Sascha was out of the house. Andres had severe brain injuries, bruising to his lung, retinal hemorrhaging to both eyes, and bruises on his bottom.

Doctors knew that Andres had not received all these injuries simply from falling off of a bed. He was put on life support, but he could not be saved due to the severity of his injuries, so he was removed from life support. Antwan was arrested and charged with felony murder. Andres's father, Adolfo Brava, wanted Sascha to be charged as well because he felt that she had allowed Antwan to murder their son, although she was not charged. As of the time this is posted, I am unable to find information about any trial/sentencing involving Andres's case.

Audryna Bartsh

Audryna Grace Bartsh
August 12, 2011 - October 29, 2014
Audryna was born on August 12, 2011 to Sheena Poldoski and Dylan Bartsh. In the early morning hours of October 29, 2014, Sheena received a phone call telling her that she needed to get ready to come say goodbye to her daughter, Audryna, who was in the emergency room. Sheena rushed to the emergency room to say goodbye to Audryna who had been in the care of her father during the time she was so severely injured she was put into the emergency room.

A medical examiner ruled that Audryna had experienced bleeding in her brain. a black eye, and multiple other scrapes and bruises. Audryna's sodium levels were also extremely high, leading investigators to think she may have been forced to ingest large amounts of salt. She had also been malnourished and dehydrated while in the care of her father, Dylan, and his girlfriend, Jaymie Rundle. Both were charged with child neglect resulting in death and physical child abuse.

Although both Dylan and Jaymie were charged with these crimes, according to the Facebook page made to raise awareness about what happened to Audryna, get her justice, and remember her, both Dylan and Jaymie are currently living freely.
